The poultry company that I worked for had their own medical clinics in each town that had any of their operations. Repeat yearly.įor 5 years I had my ears cleaned twice every year at the clinic where I worked. Tl:dr Go see a doctor and have them suck that shit out. You can't fix it or prevent it yourself." I have asked 3 different doctors in the cities I have lived in what to do about it and they all said "Come see me once a year and I'll clean it. I have a high level of wax production in my ears and swim a lot, so I end up with that stupid emulsion in my ears about once every 2 years (in each ear, so I have to go every year grumble) to have it sucked out. It's loud as hell and if they manage to get it actually latch onto your eardrum (which will happen at least once every time) you will wish you had just decided to live with it since it feels like someone just stuck a knife in your ear, but after the procedure you will be able to hear just fine. They have these tiny vacuums about the size of a ballpoint pen's ink tube and just suck the wax off your eardrum. It only takes a small amount of this slime to coat your eardrum and make it sound like you have cotton in your ear, and no amount of washing, peroxide, q-tips, etc will get it out.Īt this point you will have to go to an ear, nose, and throat doctor (might be under otolaryngologist in your insurance network) and have them vacuum it out. However, if there is too much wax in your ear to flush out, the loosened wax will trap some of the water you used in the flush, forming a very slimy emulsified coating that can't be removed chemically. The peroxide breaks up the structure and loosens it, allowing it to be washed away. Solid wax can generally be removed with peroxide. Wax is not a solid and will form what is basically a "wax emulsion" with liquid in your ear canal. It depends on how it is organized in your ear.

yes, i asked last time - i knew i wouldn't have insurance much longer. they'll just tell you proper technique and so forth. that way you can ask questions, and they'll even tell you that you can do it at home on your own. and that's easier to dislodge.īut the overall advice here is to go to the doctor. The only drawback is that the blockage is now replaced by water. for me, it takes several tries sometimes to get the blockage.

i used to go to the doctor, but without insurance, it's kind of hard.īasically just bring a cup and that bulb thing into the shower, fill the cup, then the bulb, and gently, but steadily spray it into your ear. I use one of those bulb-shaped things to flush the crap out kind of like sikadelic above said. i, on the other hand, have to constantly clean mine out. my girlfriend barely does anything and nothing grows inside. While i don't completely agree with this, i've noticed in my life that everybody has totally different ear canals. >!insert spoiler here!< Other subreddits you might like: some
